OMEGA X has announced that they have won their lawsuit against Spire Entertainment in a post on Instagram Wednesday, January 11. This just means that the group is now free from their now-former agency, legally suspending their exclusive contract.

In November 2022, OMEGA X announced its plan to file a lawsuit to terminate their contract with Spire Entertainment after its chairman and former CEO allegedly hit the members in public. The controversy grew from one accusation to another, and it even involved alleged cases of “physical, verbal, and sexual abuse.”

OMEGA X Reveals It All at a Press Conference

OMEGA X held a press conference at the Seoul Bar Association in Seocho in November 2022 to discuss the allegations they made against their agency and its former CEO.

The legal rep, Noh Jong Eon, revealed that the lawsuit to terminate his client’s contract with the firm was already underway.

Warning: Issues of sexual harassment and assault were mentioned.

“This is not just our problem but a societal issue. We took courage to change this. The unthinkable has happened in 2022 South Korea,” Noh Jung stated. “We are currently carrying out a lawsuit to terminate the exclusive contract. Strong measures will be taken including criminal charges and request for compensation.”

He also announced that the “Love Me Like” hitmakers planned to file a criminal complaint on the charges of “assault, intimidation, indecent act by compulsion, and attempted threat.”

“We have plenty of evidence including photos, videos, and voice recordings,” the rep revealed.

The lawyer claimed that the band’s members were threatened after experiencing the assault and even received a certification of contents, asking them to pay 300 to 400 million won or about $230,000 to $300,000 per head.

He also alleged that Chairman Hwang ignored everything that was happening to the group despite being aware of their situation.

Hence, they wanted the chairman to pay for compensation and held him criminally liable for helping and tolerating CEO Kang.

After the hitting incident news broke, Spire Entertainment released an official statement to apologize and announce CEO Kang had already resigned.
