Old Bounty Hunters to Appear in Star Wars: The Mandalorian?

Star Wars Episode IX might be one of the biggest films coming out from Lucasfilm next year, but fans are also keeping an eye out for Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The show is set to be five years after Return of the Jedi, and some familiar bounty hunters have been spotted on set.

According to Making Star Wars, characters like IG-88 and (possibly) Bossk have been spotted in the series. It's said that a Trandoshan alien has been spotted on set, and though it hasn't been confirmed, it's possible that this is Bossk from Empire Strikes Back.

The Dr. Aphra comic and Tarkin novel have also mentioned a collective of droids called The Droid Gotra, and it seems that they're also going to be part of the show. An IG droid has been spotted on set, and it's said that the show has been referring to it as IG-88—the same bounty hunter droid that was also in ESB.

Though IG-88 never really did anything in that movie, this series is said to have him riding speeder bikes and attacking enemies. For a character who managed to have a presence just by standing still, I wonder what Favreau has in mind to bring him into live-action.

Of course, until we get some official announcement, we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed that the show does bring back some of these characters though.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is expected to come out along with Disney's streaming service next year, but we don't know when to expect our first look of the show. Some guess that it could come before the year ends, but it could be likely that Lucasfilm is saving something for Star Wars Celebration next year.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian comes out sometime in 2019.
