The entire Marvel fandom is still experiencing extreme euphoria over Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's mind-blowing cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home and quite frankly, it's hard to blame anyone for getting so hyped up. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures executed their respective comebacks well in my book and more than the fan service it successfully delivered, it was nice to see both Tobey and Andrew finally get their redemption arc from their failed Spidey projects.

Speaking of their returns, the way No Way Home accomplished it by making Ned Leeds responsible for bringing all three Spider-Men together left some fans scratching their heads. The film reveals that Leeds comes from a family whose ancestors were magicians, thus him being able to use Doctor Strange's sling ring in order to open up portals for Maguire (Peter 2) and Garfield (Peter 3).

However, recently surfaced concept art for the film seems to suggest that Ned opening up the portal wasn't the original plan. A piece from artist Maciej Kuciara features a scene between Peter Parker, MJ, Ned, Flash, and Betty meeting America Chavez who seemingly came from the portal. To those unaware, Chavez has the ability to traverse the multiverse and by the looks of it, she may have been the first choice to bring Tobey and Andrew to Tom's world. Check it out here:

I gotta say, the idea of America being the one responsible for bringing Tobey and Andrew to Earth-616 would have made more sense than Ned's arc which was seemingly done for plot convenience. I mean, I wouldn't have minded it if his magic background was actually teased in previous films but No Way Home all of a sudden decided to explore it in such an underwhelming fashion.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is still showing in theaters worldwide.
