Ever since the film franchise was launched back in 1996, Mission Impossible still proves to find success in the box office. Ethan Hunt and his team are set to come back for a sixth movie this July, and a new poster has been released revealing the star-studded cast.
Besides franchise regulars like Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames, we also have a returning cast member from Rogue Nation Alec Baldwin. It's been an ongoing trend that Ethan Hunt will always have a new higher-up to answer to in each installment played by a distinguished actor. The list starts with Jon Voight, moving on to Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Fishburne, Tom Wilkinson, and now Alec Baldwin.
It's also worth noting that Chris McQuarrie, who directed Rogue Nation, is also coming back to direct this film. He will be the first director in the franchise to direct two MI movies.
Though I would have preferred if the franchise kept to the trend of having a different director in the helm for every installment, I guess Paramount just wanted to take less risks by re-hiring McQuarrie for MI6.
The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong.
Mission Impossible: Fallout comes out July 27.
