Official Description For Hulu's MODOK Series Reads Like a Family Sitcom

We don't get much when it comes to adult comic book series, but DC has been killing it with the recent Harley Quinn show. Marvel and Hulu are teaming up to bring us MODOK starring Patton Oswalt, and we have an official description for the show.

This comes from Deadline:

In Marvel's M.O.D.O.K., the megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Oswalt) has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth's mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.'s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet: a midlife crisis!

What's funny is how the show is actually structured like a sitcom, complete with middle-aged dad and dysfunctional family. If you read the character breakdown, you'll know the show will include MODOK's wife, his slacker son, and popular daughter; the show will also have some characters who antagonize MODOK at work.

With the show being adult-oriented, we can't expect it to come to the kid-friendly platform of Disney+; that's why MODOK is going to release on Hulu. If anything, this could be a sign of what Marvel wants to do with their more mature IP. Could Daredevil or Punisher find new life in Hulu? We'll just have to wait and see.

No release date has been set for MODOK, but hopefully we get our first teaser before the year ends. The first Marvel series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, hits Disney+ this fall.
