Obi-Wan Kenobi might be coming in a couple of months but we still have a lot to learn about the highly anticipated Star Wars series. For instance, the show boasts of a stellar cast but most of these actors' roles are still undisclosed. Luckily, we're learning new things about the upcoming Disney+ project. For instance, Simone Kessell's character might have a major connection to Princess Leia Organa!
Bespin Bulletin reports that they finally learned the identity of two key actors who will appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The outlet pointed out that Bernie Safdie will portray a Jedi named Nari. In addition to that, Simone Kessell is reportedly playing Breha Organa, Leia's adoptive mother and Senator Bail Organa's wife.
Although Breha only appeared briefly in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, she would be an important character in the franchise, albeit one who is always in the background. Breha happens to be the Queen of Alderaan and when she and Bail adopted Leia, they ultimately made her a member of the planet's royal family. She was previously played by Rebecca Jackson Mendoza in Revenge of the Sith and it looks like she will have more screentime in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
We don't know much about Leia's adoptive mother but there is little doubt that she did a great job in raising the princess. With that in mind, we can't wait to officially meet Breha Organa in the Star Wars series.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will bring back Star Wars prequel trilogy actors Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse. They will be joined by Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Maya Erskine, and Rory Ross.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi show will be a limited series consisting of six episodes. It will premiere on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
