We have known that Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently in production but there haven't been any Ewan McGregor sightings on the set so far. Luckily, the Birds of Prey star has finally been spotted right before filming and we now have our first look at the Star Wars actor wearing his new Jedi robes.
Fans have been understandably hyped up for McGregor's return as Kenobi. After all, we all want to find out what happened to the Jedi after the events in Revenge of the Sith. In addition to that, we're hoping to see if Kenobi did go up against Darth Vader again before their final fight in A New Hope. But most of all, we just want to watch McGregor wielding that lightsaber again.
For now, we don't have a photo of McGregor with a lightsaber. However, Just Jared has posted a series of pictures of the Doctor Sleep actor on the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi where he is in his new Star Wars costume. Check it out here.
Unfortunately, McGregor is keeping his costume hidden under dark robes. However, we could see part of his pants and boots. Hopefully, we'll get a better look at the costume in the next few weeks.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will be directed by former The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow. The series will also star Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and Maya Erskine. The new Star Wars show is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
