It has been over seven years since its final chapter, and now, a Nisekoi manga epilogue will be released soon, with a story that’s set 10 years after the finale.

The upcoming epilogue was revealed recently alongside the announcement of the new Nisekoi manga re-releases.

Instead of a typical re-release though, this new version of Nisekoi will be printed in a different format.

Currently, the first two volumes have been revealed, and they feature brand-new illustrations on the cover.

While Weekly Shonen Jump is best known for battle shonen titles like My Hero Academia or Jujutsu Kaisen, the magazine also regularly has high school rom-com series. And one of the most popular in the past decade is Nisekoi.

During its run from 2011 to 2016, Nisekoi gained a large fanbase thanks to its funny premise and colorful cast of characters.

Thanks to its popularity, the series has reached over 12 million copies in circulation.

Though the manga was quite popular on its own, its popularity was further boosted thanks to the anime series that began in 2014.

The Nisekoi anime was made by Shaft, the notable anime studio behind the Monogatari series.

It also features an impressive voice cast, including Nao Toyama (Ruka in Rent-A-Girlfriend) and Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri in Demon Slayer).

After its 20-episode first season, the anime was renewed for Season 2. But it was not renewed further after this, meaning the anime did not adapt the manga’s entire story.

The upcoming Nisekoi manga re-release will be in a bunko paperback format, which is different from the typical Japanese tankobon release.

Specifically, bunko releases are longer and have more chapters per volume.

Because of this, the re-release of Nisekoi will only be composed of 16 volumes. For comparison, its original run consisted of 25.

As a bonus, the new releases will come with new epilogue content that will be set 10 years after the manga’s events.

Given the time skip, it’ll be interesting to see what has happened to Raku, Chitoge, and the rest of the cast.

The new releases will also feature brand-new covers. For Volume 1, Chitoge is on the cover, while Volume 2 features an illustration of Onodera.

Nisekoi Volumes 1 and 2 in the bunko format will be released on June 16, 2023. New volumes will then be released every month.
