Nintendo Announces 40-Minute Direct Presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the most hyped game releases this year and will likely be a top seller when December rolls around. Few fighting games have had a fandom that manages to eclipse any other game out there, including recent releases for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man. Now that we're only a few months away, Nintendo decided to drop a huge bombshell by announcing a 40-minute Direct presentation that is focused on the game.

The previous presentation for the game was pretty great, announcing new characters and fun gameplay mechanics that change things up for more competitive play. Nintendo teased a new mode that wasn't shown off in the last Direct, so expect that to be one of the focuses for this presentation.

What fans are really curious about is if there will be more new characters, which seems likely. A number of leaks have been found, claiming that fighters like Ken will be a part of the game. We are going to have to wait and see if this ends up happening but it would be pretty cool if I do say so myself.

Even if we don't get a lot of new characters, fans will be very happy anyway since the game brings every big name from the previous titles. Characters like Mario, Mewtwo, Snake, Sonic, Mega Man, Cloud, and so much more will be playable, though most of them will have to be unlocked.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is coming out on November 7.
