NieR: Automata Ver1.1a – The War Against Machine Lifeforms Continues

+ 5In the far future of 5012, Earth faces a sudden invasion by Aliens and their Machine Lifeform, pushing humanity to the edge of extinction.
The surviving humans seek refuge on the moon and launch a counterattack using android soldiers.
However, the war hits a roadblock as the Machine Lifeforms keep multiplying endlessly.
In response, humanity sends a powerful new unit of android soldiers called YoRHa.
Among them, 2B joins 9S on Earth, where they come across several enigmatic phenomena during their mission.
Season 1 of the sci-fi anime sees 2B and 9S joining forces with the Resistance to take out a special Machine Lifeform named Adam.
The finale of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 1 shows the Commander going against the orders and firing the Bunker’s satellite laser cannon, obliterating Adam.
But despite the attack, Adam’s signal is still detected in the crater.

Adam embraces his death, longing to reunite with Eve. His death causes the machines to end their attack.
Tragically, 9S gets infected while hacking Adam. 2B is left with no choice but to end 9S’s suffering, and she grieves his loss deeply.
Surprisingly, 9S saves himself by transferring his consciousness to another machine.
The finale’s post-credit scene teases what fans can expect in NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2.
When 9S encounters the twin girls in red dresses, they tell him the truth about Project YoRHa.
9S finds out that humanity has been extinct for a long time, and YoRHa was designed to boost the morale of the androids by deceiving them into believing humans survived on the Moon.

NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2 Release Date

However, as of writing, the official release date of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2 is not yet announced.

What Studio Is Producing NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2?

But as of writing, there has been no confirmation that A-1 Pictures will return to produce the second season.
With its stellar quality and captivating animation, A-1 Pictures could once again be entrusted to animate NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2.
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2 Trailer
Following a long COVID-related delay, fans were treated to four episodes in one go, marking the conclusion of Season 1.
And if that was not all, fans were also treated with a trailer of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2, confirming that production is underway.
The 43-second teaser trailer shares a glimpse of what will go down in the new season.
The trailer shows Commander reading a declaration of sorts about the next phase of the war against the Machine Lifeforms.
Throughout the trailer, glimpses of 2B and 9S battling the Machines are shown.
Additionally, intriguing shots reveal Devola and Popola in a precarious situation, hinting at their potential development in NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Season 2.
