Niantic Officially Announces Pokémon GO Fest 2018

Despite last year's Pokemon GO Fest being a nightmare and resulting in a lawsuit that was recently resolved, Niantic is preparing to do another one. The company has announced that Pokemon GO Fest 2018 will be happening this year despite what happened in 2017, which isn't mentioned on the website of course.

Niantic is promising that the event, now called Pokemon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in The Park, will be a unique experience that takes place in Chicago's Linkin Park. The event will take place from July 14 to July 15, with single-day passes soon being available on May 11. That's a lot of stuff to be excited about if it weren't for the disastrous events of last year's Pokemon GO Fest.

Considering how Niantic was willing to settle the lawsuit last year and give disgruntled players a refund, it seems like the people within the company are confident that this year's GO Fest will be much better. Here is hoping that this year's event is a smooth experience for everyone so that this can become a celebrated occasion instead of a dreaded or questionable one.

It was also announced that players who won't be able to join the event will have special tasks to participate in, so fans of the game should have an enjoyable time regardless.

Pokemon GO is now available on iOS and Android.
