NFL Star Apologizes for Spoiling Avengers: Endgame Before Anyone Saw It

Spoiling a movie is bad. Spoiling a Marvel movie is horrible. Spoiling Avengers: Endgame, the most anticipated Marvel movie that literally takes everything from previous installments and uses all of them to give fans the ultimate finale, is almost unforgivable. This is why fans are still pretty mad at NFL star LeSean McCoy, who tweeted out RIP Tony Stark to a lot of hatred from fans online.

You see, McCoy was given the opportunity to watch the movie earlier than a lot of fans and he ended up tweeting out the biggest spoiler before anyone could see it. A lot of people were really pissed, rightfully so, though some of them overreacted a bit. Yes, he shouldn't have spoiled the movie but that doesn't mean McCoy should be fired from his job, geez.

During an interview with Kyle Brandt, LeSean McCoy apologized for the move, saying that he didn't think it was a big deal. He was watching the movie with his son, who had very vocal reactions, so the NFL star decided to tweet about Endgame to join in on the fun. That clearly did not go well and McCoy has since apologized for his reactions.

"So, I interview him about the movie. We're talking about the movie, I tweeted it, just goofing around with him. I didn't know the reaction of the people. I didn't know. If I knew, I would have never tweeted that. I really didn't know people got into it like that. So, I apologize, it was terrible."

Fandom can be crazy but spoilers like this are just unnecessary. Still, it's clear that the football player meant no harm so we should give him a break. Besides, there are more Marvel movies to look forward to and there were also worse leaks. Yeesh.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Disney+ and digital services.
