For now, the accounts are hyping up the release of the official trailer on Thursday. With a release date set in June, now is the right time to promote the release of the film.

We don't know where Peele wants to take the story for Candyman, but seeing how well thought out Get Out and Us was, it's possible that Peele wants to bring that same kind of thoughtfulness when it comes to this movie. After all, I think there's something interesting about Candyman as a movie monster, seeing that he's a black man whose origin stems from being a victim of racism.

Though his character is not officially listed, it looks like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be the new Candyman. I have to say, he's having a very stellar run recently. After Aquaman and Watchmen, Abdul-Mateen is also set to make an appearance in the fourth Matrix film.

A "spiritual sequel" to the 1992 horror film 'Candyman' that returns to the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.

Catch Candyman when it hits theaters June 12, 2020.
