The past week was undeniably monumental for the entire DC Universe as the confirmation was finally made that David Corenswet will play Superman opposite Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy.

Despite some critics' nitpicks toward the 29-year-old actor, for the most part, the DCU fandom is quite pleased with Corenswet landing the part because most of them have long been campaigning for him to become Henry Cavill's Kryptonian successor.

Now, a full week after the announcement was made, Corenswet is finally addressing his Superman: Legacy casting.

On Twitter, Corenswet, who hasn't been that active on social media put an end to his break and responded to fellow actor Jack Quaid's rousing praise.

Quaid, who incidentally voices the Man of Steel in Adult Swim's My Adventures with Superman (premiering July 7th) had nothing but nice things to say about the rising actor, saying that he'll "absolutely crush" the role in live-action.

He wrote: "Met @corenswet years ago doing a pilot that never got picked up. One of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. He’s going to absolutely CRUSH this role. So happy for you, man! Congrats" to which Corenswet simply responded with a saluting emoji.

Well, it looks like our new Man of Steel is a man of few words as well. Check it out here:

Unfortunately, DC Studios won't be participating in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con as confirmed by Gunn himself in a recent Instagram comment.

It could have easily been the franchise's opportunity to introduce the world to the new Superman but I guess Gunn and his DC Studios co-head Peter Safran have other plans in mind. DC Fandome, perhaps? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Superman: Legacy is slated for theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
