New Superman & Lois Series in Development Spinning Off From Supergirl

It looks like Superman & Lois is coming back, this time with Supergirl stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch. Fans immediately fell in love with Hoechlin when he first appeared as the big blue boy scout in Supergirl and his numerous appearances in the various CW crossovers. Both Hoechlin and Tulloch will be appearing in Crisis on Infinite Earths, seemingly surviving the event to star in their own series.

Reported by TVLine, former showrunner of The Flash Todd Helbing will write the series while the usual round of producers - Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns - also taking part in the project. Honestly, it's pretty cool that we're getting a live-action Superman series that will focus on both Lois Lane and Clark Kent, with the possible benefit of seeing a young Jon Kent ala DC Rebirth.

With Arrow ending soon it's actually pretty interesting seeing what The CW has done to replace their flagship show. We all knew about Green Arrow and The Canaries, which is expected to get a backdoor pilot during Arrow's final season. Now that we're getting a series focusing on one of DC's most popular superheroes, it seems like the sky's the limit for whatever The CW wants to do.

No release date for Superman & Lois has been revealed but expect one in the coming months. We'll probably see it in late 2020 or 2021.
