New Star Wars Comic Continues Young Han Solo's Adventures

Solo: A Star Wars Story is going to end up as one of the franchise's most underrated entries, due to how the film performed in the box office. The people who did see it seem to have liked the movie so Disney and Lucasfilm are probably hoping that Solo makes some extra money via Blu-Ray and DVD sales.

Interestingly enough, Marvel seems to be interested in continuing the young Han Solo's adventures as a new mini-series set after Solo was announced in Marvel's November 2018 solicitations (via Newsarama). The series is called Star Wars: Han Solo - Imperial Cadet, featuring the creative team of Robbie Thompson (Venom: First Host) and Leonard Kirk (All-New Wolverine, Agents of Atlas).

According to the solicitation, Han will be escaping Corellia by joining the Imperial Navy. The thief will be returning for Qi'ra, which is interesting since she has now been paired up with Darth Maul, as the end of Solo revealed. Han probably doesn't know that yet and is going to have to contend with being a part of the Imperial military for a bit.

Chewbacca isn't mentioned at all throughout the solicitations, though this is only the first of five issues. There is a good chance that he will be appearing in the next four issues.

Star Wars: Han Solo - Imperial Cadet #1 comes out this November.
