One report even claims that the injuries he sustained after being run over by a 14,330-pound snowplow machine could leave him sidelined for the next couple of years.

According to a report from celebrity gossip website Radar Online (via Comic Book Movie), Renner's injuries were far worse than initially expected and while he's already recuperating at home, his road to recovery will be an arduous one that could leave him without a choice but to take a long break from acting, and we're talking years here and not just months as some fans were hoping.

One source told the outlet: "The right side of Jeremy’s chest was crushed, and his upper torso had collapsed. He also had a bad head wound that was bleeding and a leg injury. Jeremy was in a lot of pain, and was having difficulty breathing."

Another rumor claims that Renner will have to undergo another surgery soon to have one of his legs removed. As it stands, however, we've yet to get official word from the actor and his representatives about the rumored amputation so it's still best to take those reports with a huge grain of salt.

Hopefully, we'll get new updates in the coming days regarding his condition but if Renner really needs to go through an extensive recovery, there's nothing we can do but wish him well and his family during this difficult time.
