New Pokemon Let's Go! Trailer Teases Meltan's Evolution

The latest trailer for Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee doesn't focus on either Pikachu or Eevee but on Meltan, a mysterious new monster that has been popping up in the mobile game Pokemon GO. It seems like the goal of this trailer was to give a visual Pokedex entry for the new monster and make it as cute as possible, which somehow worked.

It also teases something huge in the end; an evolution for Meltan. We only get to see what its shadow looks like but this is an effective tease and has gotten the attention of many Pokemon fans, with some even claiming that the trailer's end is terrifying.

Similar to how Diglett has to evolve with two of it's kind to become Dugtrio, Meltan must be around a lot of fellow Meltans to become whatever its evolution is. Unlike Diglett, Meltan doesn't just need one of its kind to evolve; it needs a whole group.

Knowing how the Pokemon games work, players won't have to collect a ton of Meltan to make it evolve. They will probably just have to level it up or feed the monster some candy, which is fine since capturing a ton of these Pokemon would eventually feel like work. Then again since the two games will be incorporating the candy system from GO, players might have to catch a lot of Meltan anyway.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are slated for a November 16 release. The two games will be playable on the Nintendo Switch only. Meltan can also be caught in Pokemon GO, which is available now on iOS and Android devices.
