It's been over two years since the launch of the Multiverse Saga but there's no denying that it's just starting to get steam. As it stands, the saga is expected to conclude in the next three years with two massive crossover films already set in stone. However, it appears that Marvel Studios might be going back to the drawing board to make some serious adjustments to its current slate.

According to a new rumor from the MarvelStudiosSpoilers Reddit page, the Multiverse Saga will actually end in 2028 with the slate being extended to Phase Seven. The general belief within the MCU fandom is that the seventh phase will kickstart a brand-new saga in the billion-dollar franchise, presumably the mutant saga.

For the uninitiated, the saga is originally expected to culminate in 2026 with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars but the rumor claims that the sixth Avengers film will be pushed back to 2028. On top of that, a huge release shakeup is said to be taking place with a number of films and shows getting delayed to later dates.

As frustrating as it may sound, it makes logical sense from a creative standpoint. It's no secret that the franchise has been suffering from a major decline in terms of quality since the start of the Multiverse Saga and it's something Kevin Feige has reportedly acknowledged.

In fact, reports claim that the latest delays have to do with Disney employing a new release strategy that aims to lessen the content their properties put out in a calendar year.

In other MCU news, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is still screening in cinemas.
