New Marvel Project Could Focus On Hawkeye And Young Protégé [Rumor]

It looks like Marvel Studios already has big plans for the existing characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, one particular project could involve Clint Barton becoming a mentor to a young archer.

According to MCU Cosmic, the rumored Marvel project will focus on Hawkeye and a young protégé. Although it is still unclear if this will be turned into a full-length film or a series for Disney's streaming service, it appears to coincide with the recent Avengers 4 casting news.

It was recently reported that Katherine Langford will appear in Avengers 4. The 13 Reasons Why star has allegedly completed work on the film but her role in the MCU flick was not revealed. Naturally, people began speculating that Langford will be playing a character from Young Avengers. Most fans believe that the actress would be perfect for the role of Kate Bishop, who eventually becomes Hawkeye.

There are speculations that Langford will be briefly introduced in Avengers 4 before starring in the Hawkeye standalone film or series. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Clint in the new project. For now, this is only a theory so it's best to take the information with a grain of salt.

The idea of Clint getting his own show or movie is certainly a welcome one. Fans were understandably disappointed when the character didn't show up in Avengers: Infinity War so we'll be happy to see more of Hawkeye in the future. Hopefully, we'll get an update once Avengers 4 hit theaters next year.

Hawkeye will return in the still-untitled Avengers 4, which is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
