New Jersey High School Turned 'Alien' Into A Play Complete With Stunning Xenomorph

School plays just got much cooler. A high school in New Jersey decided to forego your usual literary inspirations for their spring play and dove straight into a true sci-fi classic. Their spring play is based on Ridley Scott's brilliant Alien film and they even have an absolutely convincing Xenomorph.

Alien: The Play is a full-length adaptation of the 1979 film. The play is directed by English teacher Perfecto Cuervo and features most of his students in New Jersey's North Bergen High School.

So just how impressive is the play? These kids aren't simply running around in badly-made costumes or flimsy props. In fact, they even made a cool trailer for Alien: The Play. Check it out below.

If you're wondering what the Xenomorph looks like, you can watch the video below.

It's not as sleek as the original designed by H.R. Giger, but it still manages to get the audience screaming in fear.

Yes, there's a Facehugger scene as well and it's truly tense. Once again, a reminder not to go snooping around at questionable alien eggs.

The videos from the play have since gone viral and it didn't take long for the official Alien Twitter account to take notice.

The reaction to Alien: The Play is certainly positive. At one point, Paul Scheer even suggested that it's probably time for Ellen Ripley and the Xenomorph to hit Broadway.

Alien is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary so the play is a fitting tribute to the film that terrified audiences back in 1979.
