New Image of Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns

If Aquaman isn't your cup of tea for December, than you should probably go out an check Disney's reboot/sequel Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a new image of Blunt in character dancing with who I assume are London lamplighters.

Check it:

Alongside Blunt will be Lin-Manuel Miranda who will be playing the role of Jack the lamplighter. Though Mary Poppins did appear in the first movie, I think this role of Jack is made to stand in for Dick Van Dyke's character Bert.

Interestingly enough, Van Dyke is also making a return to screen with this movie, but he's playing a character named Mr. Dawes Jr.

The film has a very impressive cast gathered. Besides Blunt and Miranda, you also have the likes of Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Julie Walters, and Angela Lansbury making an appearance. I'm sure movie-philes will also recognize Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw as well.

Fingers crossed they get Julie Andrews to cameo.

In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.

Mary Poppins Returns to cinemas on Dec. 19.
