New Avengers 4 Theory Suggests Thanos May Have Foreshadowed The Death Of Captain America

Undoing Thanos' (Josh Brolin) massacre in Avengers 4 definitely won't be easy for Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the remaining heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With Chris Evans' contract with Marvel Studios coming to an end, fans have come to expect Captain America to sacrifice his life to bring back the half of the universe's living population that Thanos turned to dust in Avengers: Infinity War.

Now, according to a new theory posted online, Captain America's death was actually foreshadowed during the first installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie.

Taking to Reddit, a Marvel fan explains that the damage that Thanos suffers after using the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of the universe is the main clue that hints at Captain America's death in Avengers 4.

Check out the theory down here:

"My prediction is that sometime during the climax of the battle with Thanos they will get the Gauntlet off of him, but there will be almost nobody left to use it. Tony will attempt to do so, but Thanos will end up breaking his left arm, preventing him from doing it.

That will leave Cap as the only person left in a position to do so, and when he uses the Gauntlet to reverse the Snap it will kill him instead.

The reason they showed the Gauntlet hurting Thanos is so it makes more sense when it straight-up disintegrates Cap."

It's an interesting postulation. After all, using the Infinity Stones all at once takes a great amount of energy, one that inflicts damage on beings as mighty as the Mad Titan, Thanos. If Cap does manage to use the Gauntlet, then it wouldn't come as a surprise if we'd see the First Avenger getting disintegrated right after.

However, while the use of the Infinity Gauntlet is a possibility, fans have to remember that Cap is a mortal, and according to the Infinity Stone's lore in the MCU, it takes a great amount of energy just to hold a single Infinity Gem. Remember Guardians of the Galaxy where the Guardians had to share the burden of holding the Power Stone? The Guardians only survived then because Quill (Chris Pratt) had celestial blood in him (turns out Peter's the son of Ego, the living planet).

How would Cap even be able to use all six stones? Sure he's a super soldier, but he's still very much human. Cap wouldn't last a second.

So, how do you think would Cap sacrifice his life in Avengers 4? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
