Whether you know him for Old Man Logan, Kick-Ass, or Superman: Red Son, one thing is clear; Mark Millar is a big deal, hence they hype surrounding his newest comic The Magic Order, the first comic book from Netflix. He will be working with superstar artist Oliver Coipel, who has worked on House of M, Thor, and Spider-Verse, so this will be a gorgeous comic.
In fact, fans can see how gorgeous that comic will be with this new teaser trailer from Netflix. Unfortunately, it's pretty brief, but it should get fans of Millar, Coipel, or the subscription service something to look forward to.
The comic book focuses on five different magicians from different families that have practiced magic. They have been defending the Earth from various unseen forces for generations but have to hide their abilities from the world. With this teaser, it looks like someone important has died, though it's too early to tell if it is related to the aforementioned unseen forces.
Millar has discussed making the comic accessible for newbies, pointing out how the series' tone is less Lord of The Rings and more The Sopranos. He's always found a way to mix genres with his comics, so this should be no different.
The Magic Order hits comic shelves on June 13.
