Netflix Denies Sweet Home Season 2 Production Start, Returning Cast List

It might be too soon to start celebrating Sweet Home Season 2. Netflix has just denied that the Korean horror series will begin production with the same cast members later this year.

Several reports have stated that Sweet Home has been renewed for a second season which will start filming in late 2021. In addition to that, it was revealed that Season 1 cast members including Song Kang, Lee Dohyun, and Lee Jinwook will return for the show's sequel.

Unfortunately, it looks like things have not yet been ironed out for the series. Netflix has issued a statement denying that Sweet Home Season 2 is ready to start filming this year.

"There is nothing set about the production of Sweet Home 2," a representative from Netflix stated. It was also suggested that the line-up of returning cast members has not yet been finalized.

There is a good reason why it might take some time before Sweet Home Season 2 can begin production. The lead stars Song Kang and Lee Dohyun are currently busy with other projects and it is believed that their schedules might be delay filming. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that an official update on the series will be announced soon.

Sweet Home is based on the popular South Korean webtoon of the same name that follows the residents of an apartment complex dealing with people turning into monsters. When a high school student Cha Hyunsoo is discovered to still maintain his humanity despite turning into a monster, the other residents decide he is the key to their survival in the apocalypse.

Sweet Home Season 2 has not yet been given an official production start date or release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
