After sharing new featurettes and screenshots over the past week, Netflix is not done yet as another promo video has been shared. This latest one is special as it’s a new behind-the-scenes look at the One Piece live-action series.
This video was shared on Netflix’s official channels recently, and it features lots of new footage along with some exclusive cast interviews.
While fans will have to wait for its release to find out if it’s good, many are cautiously optimistic, which is more than can be said about other live-action anime adaptations.
One Piece Fans Are Cautiously Optimistic for Netflix’s Live-Action Series
Anime live-action adaptations get a bad rap from fans for good reason. Many of these adaptations, be they movies or TV shows, just don’t live up to their source material. Not to mention that some just look awkward.
Over the years, Netflix has tried numerous adaptations such as the Cowboy Bebop series or the Death Note movie. Pretty much all of them have been panned by fans and critics alike.
Now, Netflix is back with yet another adaptation, and this time, it’s the beloved shonen anime, One Piece. Interestingly, many fans are quite optimistic about it.
While there are still many concerns, most fans are keen to give it a try as the trailers and other promotional materials seem to have captured the anime’s initial arcs well, at least visually.
It also helps that this series was made with heavy involvement from creator Eiichiro Oda, which means the show has Oda’s seal of approval, though it will have some changes from the original.

One Piece Live-Action Gets Special Behind-the-Scenes Video Ahead of Premiere
With the show’s release just a bit over a week away, Netflix continues to ramp up the promotion for the One Piece live-action series.
Most recently, a special behind-the-scenes video was shared online. While it doesn’t actually contain footage during the filming sans effects, it’s still a must-watch for fans given how many new clips it contains.

The One Piece live-action series will be streamed exclusively on Netflix on August 31, 2023.
Ahead of the show’s release, a series of events will take place across the world, which will give lucky fans a special preview of the show.
