Following its announcement earlier this year, Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections which reveals the game’s story mode.
Along with the story mode’s reveal, the new trailer also shows action-packed cutscenes that fans will get to see in the game, featuring iconic franchise figures as well as brand-new characters made just for the game.
Aside from featuring an original story, the game is one that many fans are excited for given that it’s the first major release in the series in over seven years.
Ultimate Ninja Storm Is Back With Naruto x Boruto ‘Connections’
Naruto is no doubt one of the most iconic anime of the 2000s. Thanks to its popularity, the series has inspired a wide range of projects, one of the most popular being the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series.
This fighting video game series began back in 2003 and has since gotten well over a dozen titles. Though the latest entry in the series is Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, which came out in 2016.
Given how long it has been since its release, many fans were delighted when the new Ultimate Ninja Storm game was announced back in February.
As its title implies, Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will feature characters from both the Naruto and the Boruto series.
Instead of being an all-new entry though, the game is partly a compilation of the four previous Ultimate Ninja Storm games. It will also come with all 164 characters from past titles.

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Game Showcases Story Mode
While the game will feature selected scenes from the previous Ultimate Ninja Storm entries, Bandai Namco revealed that Connections will also include an original story that was highlighted in the latest trailer.
Specifically, this new story is set in the Boruto timeline. There, Boruto will meet the new character, Nanashi.
Soon, the Fifth Great Ninja War will threaten to break out because of the mysterious new character, Merz.

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2023.
However, there’s no word yet on a specific release date for the game.
