Naomi Osaka is expecting her first child, and though many celebrate the news, she just hinted at her absence at the 2023 tennis season. Though the four-time major champion didn’t confirm who her baby daddy is, all eyes are now on her longtime boyfriend, Cordae.

Who is Cordae?
His real name is Cordae Amari Dunston, and he’s better known as Cordae, a 25-year-old rapper, singer, and songwriter.
He was first known for releasing remixes of some of the most famous songs, like Eminem’s “My Name, on YouTube.

In 2018, he joined the musical ensemble YBN, and the latter dropped their first and only project, YBN: The Mixtape, in September of the said year. He left the group in 2020.
Cordae has two solo studio albums, The Lost Boy and From a Bird’s Eye View, released in 2019 and 2022, respectively. The former received a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Rep Album in 2020 and Best Rap Song for its single, “Bad Idea.”
How Did Cordae, Naomi Osaka Meet?
In a video for GQ Q&A, both Cordae and Osaka revealed that they first met at a Clippers game in 2019.
In the same year, rumors about their romance began circulating online after the former World No. 1 shared a mirror selfie of them on Instagram.

But despite the noise surrounding their romance, the two have kept their relationship private.
"We were dating for almost a year before people knew about us. So, we kind of move very reclusively," Cordae told GQ in 2021. "We don't really post intimate moments because I feel as though they're sacred."
The couple then walked the red carpet of the 2021 Met Gala together.
Naomi Osaka’s Pregnancy Announcement
Osaka announced her pregnancy in a post on Twitter Thursday, January 12.
She posted a photo of her ultrasound and a screenshot of the lengthy announcement, with a caption, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”

"I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, everyday is a new blessing and adventure," she wrote.
"I know that I have much to look forward to in the future, one thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom,' haham” she continued. “2023 will be a year that'll be full of lessons for me and I hope I'll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I'll be at [Australian Open] 2024."
