Namgoong Min surprised fans with his transformation for the K-drama The Veil.

The 44-year-old star showed how he is committed as an actor after gaining weight for his role, Han Ji Hyuk.

In the MBC series, he plays the top National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent, known for his perfect record and completing his missions.

However, after uncovering the activities of a big crime syndicate, he vanished without a trace.

Fortunately, after years in hiding, Han Ji Hyuk returns with a vengeance and plans on taking revenge against the traitor who almost killed him.

Apart from his stellar performance as the former agent driven by revenge, viewers witnessed Namgoong Min’s drastic transformation with a visually fit physique.

As noted by AllKpop, he gained 14kg muscle weight to fit the character of Han Ji Hyuk.

Interestingly, he shared his workout tricks, and tips in an episode of MBC’s I Live Alone.

Namgoong Min’s Diet

In the TV show, as obtained by Koreaboo, the 44-year-old A-lister shared that he stopped eating gluten in January 2021, months before they started to shoot The Veil.

Namgoong Min’s diet at the time focused on carbs and protein to build muscles.

He even went all out and cut down water and replaced it with protein-based drinks.

Namgoong Min Workout Routine: How to Achieve The Actor’s Body?

As for his exercise, the actor revealed that he spent 3 to 4 h0urs a day at the gym.

Interestingly, most of Namgoong Min’s workout routine begins by doing chest exercises as warm-ups.

Another secret for his hulk-like figure is by focusing on his shoulders.

After shoulder exercise, Namgoong Min’s workout routine is followed by weightlifting. In his case, his trainer handed him a 20kg weights.

Interestingly, one thing that his trainer told him is never overdoing the exercise.

According to medlineplus.gov, too much exercise could lead to mood swings, depression, having trouble sleeping, losing weight, getting more colds, and sore muscles or heavy limbs.

With this, the outlet suggests having at least 1 or 2 weeks of rest by completely cutting back exercise. In this way, the body will be fully recovered.
