Here’s What Happened Before My Hero Academia Chapter 403
The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 402 is The Tearful Days, and it begins with some updates about the current state of the battlefields. We then see Todoroki and Ochako lying unconscious on the ground.
The cops confirmed that Dabi’s heat has subsided and the refugees are all fine. They also found out that Toga’s doubles (Twice’s doubles) have stopped spreading.
Momo even confirmed that Twice’s doubles are fading away. Both of these mean that Todoroki and Ochako completed their missions successfully.
Hatsume informs everyone that U.A. is now lighter without the doubles, which means they can keep floating. But the cops report that All For One is approaching Shigaraki, and he’s now in range to use his gloop warp.
As this happens, Midoriya is still fighting Shigaraki while Tsukauchi monitors them from the screen.
Tsukauchi thinks about how Midoriya jumped down from U.A. and went straight to fighting Shigaraki in close quarters, where they somehow reached a standstill.
All For One reveals that ever since he injected himself with Rewind, getting to Shigaraki has been his goal. If he can give the synthetic copy of All For One to Shigaraki, then the latter can finally become a stronger version of himself.
Upon seeing this, All Might crawls in desperation and calls out to All For One, who’s busy thinking about not letting Midoriya interfere with his plan. All for One activates the gloop warp and demands that his other self come to him.
Some goo emerges from Shigaraki’s mouth, but only for a short while. Shigaraki then looks at All For One as if he were asking his mentor to stop getting in his way.
This confirms All For One’s speculation that Shigaraki’s consciousness has overcome his own.
That’s when All For One turns to All Might with a menacing smile plastered on his face. He drags All Might mid-air, holding the beloved hero in his leg to show his pathetic state in public.
Shigaraki taunts Deku, asking him to help All Might while he goes back to U.A. to kill everyone who hurt him, much to Deku’s anger.
Deku holds back his tears as he recalls the time when All Might asked him to quit being a crybaby.
The One For All vestige inside Midoriya starts to vanish, forewarning All Might’s farewell. The next panel then shows Deku shouting his mentor’s name, with tears flowing like energy from his eyes.
All Might looks back at the first time he met Midoriya. He told Midoriya to never give up on his dream back then, so he himself should also not give up on his own dream of being the symbol of peace.
He grabs All For One’s neck and smiles. Before the chapter ends, All For One sees Nana Shimura’s final moments with him. He recalls how Nana told him about All Might defeating him because Toshinori was even crazier than him.
