Mushoku Tensei’s long-awaited second season has finally begun. But fans aren’t happy with the recent Mushoku Tensei Season 2 release as the premiere episode is censored on Crunchyroll and other international platforms.
While the anime’s Episode 0 was well received, some fans noticed that the Crunchyroll version of the latest episode had some edited scenes that censored sensitive content.
It turns out that this was also the case with the episode’s release on other streaming platforms. It seems that the uncensored version was only released in Japan.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 0 Has Censored Scenes Outside Japan
Now that it has been over a day since the first Mushoku Tensei episode’s release, fans shared on Twitter and Reddit the discovery that the international release versions of the show had censored scenes.
First, fans noticed that one part of the episode had an awkwardly animated scene. While many brushed it off at first, it turns out that this scene was censored.
Though it was first noticed on Crunchyroll, it seems that other international streaming platforms of the show also got the censored version.
In response, the Taiwanese streaming platform Bahamut acknowledged the censored version and shared an update to viewers about how they’ve asked for clarification from the Japanese side.
Currently, the other streaming platforms have yet to acknowledge the censored version.
Interestingly though, the anime’s Netflix release in certain parts of Asia features the uncensored Japanese version.
As a small consolation to fans, the censored scene isn’t a huge change. But it has still spurred fears of more censorship in the coming episodes.

Fans Are Worried That More Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episodes Will Be Censored
Fans noted that Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will likely feature more sensitive scenes based on what happens in the light novel.
Because of this, fans are concerned that there will be more censored scenes in the coming episodes. However, fans are hoping that this is an isolated incident.
Anime being censored outside Japan isn’t new, as there have been many shows that received complaints from international fans for censoring scenes, including shows like Onimai.
Given that most streaming platforms (not including Bahamut) haven’t acknowledged the censored scenes, it’ll be interesting to see if the episode will be quietly changed to the uncensored version due to fan demand.
