Ms. Marvel Producer Addresses the Possibility of Doing a Second Season

Ms. Marvel finally made its way to Disney+ and, so far, the responses have been mostly positive on its debut. While there are still five episodes to unfold, there are fans who are already wondering about whether the series will have a second season despite being conceived as a limited series at the moment.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Ms. Marvel executive producer and character co-creator Sana Amanat was asked if they have plans to do a second season of the series. While they intend it to be a one-off series leading to the events of The Marvels, she did express her interest and hope of potentially doing another season.

"I hope there are. I mean, it is laid out as a limited series for her to go off and do other things," Amanat said. "It certainly establishes her [as a] hero. She will be going into Marvels next, so that's kind of there. I hope we get a Season 2 is all I'm going to say! I hope we're a part of that."

So far, with the exception of Loki, none of the MCU live-action shows have been renewed for a second season although some of the storylines continue to the theatrical films (case in point: Wanda Maximoff from WandaVision to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). In the case of Kamala Khan, her journey is expected to continue on The Marvels where she will team up with Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau.

It would be interesting to see if the series will eventually get a second season somewhere in the future although it will depend on the character's direction by the end of The Marvels whether she will go back on her solo adventure or she will be joining a superhero team. Either way, fans are looking forward to seeing Kamala's journey in the future whether it's in a second season or in the theatrical films.
