Motive Studios General Manager Discusses Their Open World Star Wars Project

The closure of Visceral Games might have slowed down the development of some of EA's Star Wars games, but that doesn't mean that the projects are shutting down.

Motive Studios head manager Jade Raymond just recently spoke with Game Informer, and during their interview, the manager gave a few updates about the studio's upcoming untitled Star Wars video game.

Though Raymond might not have any official details on when Motive's Star Wars project might release, she does assure Star Wars gamers that the project is in good hands.

"Ragtag was being co-developed already with the team in Vancouver, so there was already a group of people who had been collaborating on it," the Motive Studios manager explained to the publication. "The core team there is super, super strong. There are people who had worked on Skate, SSX, and a bunch of Need For Speeds back in the day, so there is a core group that was part of EA Black Box when that was a thing. It's people who worked on a lot of non-sports stuff out of Vancouver over the years."

The team's grown since then as well. Not only does Motive have a core team for the Star Wars game, they've also added people who worked on games like Sleeping Dogs and Prototype.

Sure, it might be a bit disappointing that Raymond might not be able to offer us any concrete details about the project just yet, but knowing that the project has a pretty strong team is assuring enough. Besides, according to the Motive Studio honcho, the team has three terabytes of Star Wars art work for the project. That's certainly a lot to work with.

We really hope that the team manages to come up with a one-of-a-kind Star Wars gaming experience for everyone.
