More Details About The Magic: The Gathering Foils in Mystery Boosters Will Be Revealed Soon

The retail edition (aka the Wizards Play Network version) of the Magic: The GatheringMystery Boosters will be available next month, and unlike the convention edition of the huge Magic booster draft set, each pack in the WPN version will have a slot for one of the 121 possible foil cards not found in the main set, instead of the Playtest cards found in the convention version. Wizards of the Coast previously said that the whole list of possible list will be soon as we get close to the March 13 release, and now senior MTG designer Gavin Verhey has provided an update on Twitter.

"We'll be talking more about Mystery Booster foils soon," Verhey said. "Just to set expectations, as I've said before, this set adds no never-before-done foils into the world. There's still tons of sweet (and quirky) stuff in there."

Despite the lack of never-before-done foils in Mystery Boosters, many Magic players are still excited to have a unique booster draft experience with this set that will feature a bunch of reprints. I wonder what "sweet (and quirky)" stuff Gavin is talking about though, but I'm not expecting any surprises from this product since WotC already revealed what the Mystery Boosters will contain anyway. We just have to wait for them to reveal what foils will be featured, and Epicstream will update you once they release the information.

The WPN version of the Mystery Booster will be available on March 13, 2020; the Convention version will be available at MagicFest events and conventions where it will be featured.
