Moon Knight Episode 6: Finale Reveals Why Harrow is Ammit's Perfect Avatar

Of all the avatars in Moon Knight, Arthur Harrow seems like an unlikely one for the god who balances the scales for judging whether a person has done good or potentially something bad in the future. Moon Knight Episode 6: Finale Reveals Why Harrow is Ammit's Perfect Avatar

In the finale of Moon Knight, Gods and Monsters, Arthur Harrow finally unveiled his plan and successfully brought Ammit back to life by bringing her ushabti to the chamber of the gods where she came back to her physical form after two thousand years of being imprisoned in stone.

Ammit felt that Harrow’s scales were not balanced and he fully accepts whatever judgment the goddess would give her. Ammit explains that what makes Harrow’s scales unbalanced is because of the things Harrow would do for her and she tells him the tale of Alexander the Great, her last avatar, whose scales were perfectly balanced but led her to imprisonment for two thousand years.

Here’s why Harrow is perfect for her: an unbalanced soul can claim many souls for her, no need to wait for judgment and she could rule the world just as she wants to. Harrow’s sinister plans would be perfect for her because his sins would benefit her.

Also, Ammit’s main opponent is Khonshu and given that Harrow has history with the Egyptian moon god, Harrow would be the perfect candidate for her avatar. With Harrow’s previous knowledge of how Khonshu works, she could easily know what Khonshu’s step would be.

While both Khonshu and Ammit are after the same thing, punishment for the sinners and retribution, their means do not meet in the middle. Ammit’s would punish a person before even committing a sin while Khonshu would only put judgment if the sin has already been done. This is where they could have had it all, but both of them are stubborn, no one backed down.

Whether Ammit and Harrow were killed by Jake Lockley, it seems apparent that this may be the end of their stint in the MCU but who knows, they may return someday, sometime in the future.

Moon Knight Finale is now streaming on Disney Plus.
