MONSTA X member Minhyuk will officially become the second member to begin his military service.
After Shownu's enlistment in July 2021, MONSTA X revealed that Minhyuk would also serve in the military this year. The idol announced the date of his enlistment on the K-pop group's fan café in March, saying that he would start his duty on April 4.

MONSTA X Minhyuk Debuts Buzz Cut Before Military Enlistment
On Minhyuk's Instagram page, the K-pop idol shared a photoset to show his new haircut to fans. The photos feature the Elegance singer with his shaved head; his bandmate Kihyun also posed in some of the snapshots.
Fans showered him with different comments, with some expressing their heartbreaks as he would not perform in a while and others praising his visuals.

Among the comments read:
“I can't believe it's already time for him to leave.”
“He's still so good looking.”
“Omg, I can't believe he shaved his head already.”

On April 2, he shared two photos of himself alongside the other members during a dinner before his enlistment. He still appeared with the K-pop group on JTBC's Knowing Brothers episode.
Minhyuk Leaves Heartfelt Handwritten Letter to Fans
Before his enlistment, he left a heartfelt message on MONSTA X's fan café confirming the beginning of his military duties.
"I need to come to the cafe to write messages to you guys and look through new posts and share photos and tell you all that I'm done with my workout and do Bubble lives and all the things that Monbebes love, but I won't be able to do any of that for a short while, which pains me the most. Other than that, I intend on going with a happy heart," part of the message reads.
Minhyuk assured fans he would use his time away to make himself stronger and pledged to return a better person. He also told them not to be too sad as he is not going that far.
