Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the longest entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise, with the film having a runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes. But does this include a post-credits scene?

In Mission: Impossible 7, Ethan Hunt and his team are on their biggest and most dangerous mission yet – trying to save the world from the Entity, a powerful, self-aware artificial intelligence program.

So, should you stay until the end of the credits? Is there a mid-credits scene or a post-credits scene in Mission: Impossible 7?

No, Mission: Impossible 7 does not have a post-credits scene or a mid-credits scene, just like in the previous films.

A mid-credits scene or post-credits scene often sets up a sequel or gives an additional tease about what’s to come in a movie franchise.

While having post-credits scenes in movies is common these days, thanks to superhero films, Mission: Impossible 7 does not follow this trend.

Instead, the movie follows the tradition of the franchise where there are no post-credits scenes at the end of the films.

It is worth mentioning that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One does not need to have a post-credits scene considering that the ending of the film already sets up Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.

This is similar to what occurred in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. A post-credits scene was not really necessary considering that the ending already sets up Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

And since we know that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the first installment of a two-part story, a post-credits scene is not really necessary.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two comes out next year, specifically on June 28, 2024.

There’s no official synopsis for the eighth Mission: Impossible film yet, in fact, Director Christopher McQuarrie told Collider that the ending is still being figured out:

"I don't know what the ending of Part Two is, so I couldn't tell you. I'm not being evasive. I could tell you that I know what the end of Part Two is, but I can't guarantee that that will be the ending when we get there."

But based on what occurred in the seventh film, we have an idea of what Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two will be about and the cast members who will and will not be returning.

And with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One not having a post-credits scene after a cliffhanger ending, this builds up more anticipation for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.
