Mike Myers Says Austin Powers 4 Script is ‘Looking Good’

Mike Myers can be known for a lot of great characters, and one of them is international man of mystery Austin Powers. It's been more than 15 years since the release of Austin Powers: Goldmember, but Myers confirms that a fourth movie is in the works, and the script is currently underway.

During the premiere of Bohemian Rhapsody, Access Online had asked Myers about an update on the fourth Austin Powers film to which he replied, "Well, you're gonna see Dr. Evil soon, somewhere in the culture." Myers continued on about how it takes a while to write these films, and with director Jay Roach working on something else, Myers just ended his statement with, "It's looking good."

Austin Powers was a huge hit back in 90s, and it seemed that the franchise had ended with Goldmember tying everything neatly into a bow. Myers and the same people then attempted to follow the series up with the disastrous Love Guru, and from that point it seemed that Myers had disappeared into obscurity, only doing voicework for Shrek as well as some small onscreen roles.

Interestingly though, Myers had done a small seprisal of his Dr. Evil for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and it has him talking about how Trump originally appointed him as ‘Secretary of Evil.'

Hopefully audiences will be ready for Austin Powers 4 should it come out. With films like Dumb and Dumber and Zoolander getting sequels ‘too late,' I would rather that they just kept Austin Powers the way it is instead of trying to force it back to life.

No release date has been announced for Austin Powers 4.
