Michael Rooker Says Yondu Deserves His Own What If...? Episode

There is little doubt that Yondu Udonta has become one of the most loved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after what happened in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. So does the Ravager deserve to get his story told on a Disney+ series? Michael Rooker says that his character should get his own episode on What If...? in the future.

Rooker recently reprised his role as Yondu in What If...? Episode 2. In the episode, the Ravager takes T'Challa instead of Peter Quill and the future king of Wakanda ends up becoming Star-Lord. Yondu only plays a secondary yet essential role in the episode but Rooker believes that his character deserves to get an episode of his own.

Rooker recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly where he was asked about the possibility of Yondu being one of the main focus in What If...? and not surprisingly, the Suicide Squad star agrees.

"Well, I certainly hope it does. That would be a great 'what if,'" Rooker said with a laugh. "I would jump on that bandwagon right away."

Rooker then pointed out that his character is still a mystery for MCU fans and it would be great to know more about Yondu.

"It is a wonderful little niche in the armor to open it up and see what happened, what could happen. What if we told more of Yondu's story and the Ravagers?" he said.

The idea of Yondu getting a What If...? episode is interesting considering that the character would have several awesome possibilities. It would also be a great way to learn more about how he became a Ravager and seeing his heroic start.

The second episode of Marvel's What If...? also features the late Chadwick Boseman's final performance as T'Challa. The episode is now streaming on Disney+.
