In case you missed it, Meows Morales is breaking the internet (or Twitter, at least). After fans rediscovered the little-known Spider-Man Variant from the comic books, adorable and awesome fan artworks have flooded social media who can't get enough of the character.
Twitter Users Rediscover Miles Morales' Variant Meows Morales
On June 15, Twitter user @alien_bottle shared two panels from the one-shot annual Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham. It features Spider-Ham talking to Howard the Duck when the feline Variant of Miles Morales crashes into their window.
These are the only panels that feature Meows Morales but there's a lot to unpack. For instance, Meows asks Spider-Ham and Howard if they know where his uncle Heron is and Peter Porker somehow reveals that Heron is actually the Growler.
Not surprisingly, people are already loving Meows Morales and the tweet already has over 34 million views. In addition to that, the rediscovery spawned hundreds of fan arts depicting Miles Morales' feline Variant.
Meows Morales isn't the only cool Variant you'll find out there. The rediscovery also led to fans finding Penguin Stacy aka Spider-Guin.
It's clear that Meows Morales is gaining popularity but could this also mean that he will be joining the Spider-Verse? Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse already gave us a glimpse at Spider-Cat in action and now, fans are hoping that another Spider-Feline will make an appearance in the sequel.
For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether Meows Morales will show up in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. Still, given the character's newfound popularity and the much-discussed grand scale of the third film, it's likely that we'll get to see another Miles Morales Variant that preferably isn't a villain.
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 29, 2024.
