Meghan Markle made headlines last week after she made some strong allegations against Deal or No Deal. The Duchess of Sussex worked as a briefcase girl on the game show for an entire year before quitting because the role made her feel as though she was reduced to a bimbo.
Meghan Markle Claimed That Deal Or No Deal Focused On Her Appearance, Not Her Brain
On her Archetypes podcast, Meghan Markle also claimed that Deal or No Deal was just focused on the way the briefcase girls looked. So, being on the show made her feel that she wasn't smart enough to be doing other things.
After her conversation with Paris Hilton aired last week, several critics already slammed Markle for the things that she said. Whoopi Goldberg also wondered what Markle thought she would do when she applied for the job.
As a briefcase girl, she was simply tasked to carry briefcase number 24. Deal or No Deal wasn't also a program where she could showcase how smart she was. But even if she knew this beforehand, she still accepted the job. Markle said that it was primarily because of the health benefits and the salary.

Meghan Markle's Controversial 90210 Clip Surfaces
But just days later, Markle is accused of being a hypocrite. After all, she said that she quit Deal or No Deal because she didn't want to be portrayed as a bimbo. But two years later, she made a cameo in 90210.
Daily Mail published a clip of Markle's character Wendy seemingly being casually intimate with a male character. The scene also seemingly reduced her to a bimbo because she was hooking up with someone who had a girlfriend. What's worse was that the girlfriend caught Wendy during the deed.
After the clip was released online, several critics questioned Markle's version of events.
"She must have forgotten she was [expletive] girl in that show AFTER she left her briefcase girls stint due to being objectified," one person commented (via Mirror UK).
"No one forced you. No one reduced you. You willingly took those jobs," another person said.
"What was going through her mind when she read for that role? Was that going to be her breakout starring role?" another person wrote.
Former Deal Or No Deal Briefcase Girl Slams Meghan Markle
Fellow Deal or No Deal alum Claudia Jordan also countered Markle's claims by saying that the producers on the show never made them feel like they were bimbos.
"For clarity - yes getting a modeling gig on a game show isn't necessarily about your intellect, but for every show the executive producers picked five models with the most outgoing and fun personalities to place mics on, who they knew would engage with the contestants. And Deal or No Deal never treated us like bimbos. We got so many opportunities because of that show," she wrote on her Instagram account.
