A lot of negative things have been said about Meghan Markle. For instance, she has been accused of being difficult to work with, so she was labeled “Duchess Difficult.” And then there was the back and forth with regards to her alleged spat with Kate Middleton and who made who cry. But it is royal author Tom Bower’s recent allegations about the Duchess of Sussex that seemingly shocked the entire world the most.
In the book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, Bower claimed that Meghan Markle called out Prince Harry’s friends after she heard their sexist jokes during one shooting weekend. And there were also claims that Markle had some outrageous demands ahead of her wedding day.
Royal Author Shares Details From His Conversation With Thomas Markle About Meghan Markle
But this week, Bower shared details from his conversation with Markle’s estranged dad, Thomas Markle Sr. The latter reportedly told the author that his daughter did not even know the majority of her A-list royal wedding guests.
“Thomas Markle told me that he knew the people at the wedding better than Meghan because he had filmed with them all at ABC and other studios. Meghan didn't know Oprah at all. She's met her once for a few minutes. She didn't know George Clooney, that was passing once they'd met. It was all for her future. She used the wedding to build up her career for when she returned to Hollywood,” he said (via Express).
Indeed, when Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot at Windsor Castle years ago, they had a slew of A-list guests there. Some of Markle’s Suits co-stars like Patrick J. Adams and Rick Hoffman were there.
But George and Amal Clooney were also present, as well as Winfrey, Serena Williams, Idris Elba, Victoria and David Beckham, James Corden, and more were also present.

Oprah Winfrey Is Good Friends With Meghan Markle And Doria Ragland
However, Winfrey previously detailed her friendship not only with Markle but also with her mom, Doria Ragland. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she also clarified the rumors that Ragland left her house in Los Angeles following a short visit with bags of gifts.
“The story was that Meghan’s mom had come to my house and she left laden with gifts. Do you know what the gifts were? First of all, she’s great at yoga, so I said, ‘Bring your yoga mat and your sneaks in case we just want to do yoga on the lawn.’ So one of the bags was a yoga mat and the other was lunch. She said, ‘I love kumquats,’ and I said, ‘I have a kumquat tree! You want some kumquats?’ So it was a basket of kumquats, people... For all the people who said I am getting her gifts and I’m trying to bribe her for an interview — they were kumquats. If kumquats can get you an interview, I’m all for it!” she said.
Meghan Markle And Serena Williams’ Friendship Started In 2014
As for Markle and Williams, the two have also, reportedly, been friends for years. According to Us Weekly, the two women first crossed paths in 2014 after they were put on the same flag football team at DIRECTV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl. And since then, they have never lost touch.
It’s unclear how Markle became friends with the Clooneys, but it’s possible it’s through the actor’s wife, Amal, who is a humanitarian lawyer and who is also active with the causes that are close to her heart.
