Meghan Markle has not reconciled with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr. It has also been a couple of years since the father and daughter last spoke to each other. Ever since the Duchess of Sussex got engaged to Prince Harry, her dad has been saying all sorts of negative things about the Suits alum.
And after hearing Prince Harry’s recent interview, Thomas Markle Sr. had some strong words about his son-in-law and the royal family.
Thomas Markle Sr. Plans To Attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee
During a recent interview, Thomas Sr. revealed that he will be attending the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. He said that he would take this opportunity to let the royal family know how much he respects the queen and the British clan.
However, Thomas Sr. also thinks that if Prince Harry and Markle know that he would be there, they will most likely skip the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“I’m going to show my respects for the Queen, and I’m going to let them know and make sure the Queen understands my entire family respects the Queen and the royals. We admire them, and we want them to know that that’s how we feel about them and that’s how we feel about England. I want them to understand that we have no ill feelings towards the royals whatsoever. We have nothing but respect and admiration for them and the same feeling for all British people,” he said (via Express).

Meghan Markle’s Dad Slams Prince Harry
Thomas also slammed Prince Harry and called the latter an “i***t.” The former lighting director also said that he doesn’t understand half of the things that the Duke of Sussex says.
“I think it’s ridiculous. He knows how much security they’re going to have, he’s totally safe in that situation, and my god he’s going off to the (Invictus) Games, which would be far more dangerous for him than it would be at the Jubilee. I don’t understand half the things he says, and I have so little respect for that man. I think he’s an i***t,” he said.
Thomas Sr. also took offense over Prince Harry’s decision to not bring his two children when he visited the queen. As of late, Her Majesty still hasn’t met Lilibet Diana in person.
“It makes no sense, not seeing these children makes no sense at all as well. I don’t know whether it's Meghan or Harry but the Queen should have every right to see and hear these grandchildren, and I should have every right to see my grandchildren. So, if they show up I hope they bring the kids,” he said.
During his interview with Hoda Kotb, Prince Harry said that he promised the queen that she would meet his great-grandchildren very soon.
“I don't know yet. There are lots of things: security issues and everything else. So, this is what I'm trying to do, trying to make it possible that, you know, I can get my kids to meet her,” he said (via People).
Thomas Markle Sr. Has Been Criticizing Prince Harry, The Firm For Years
This is not the first time that Thomas Sr. lashed out at Prince Harry. But there were also several instances wherein he criticized The Firm.
After seeing the Duke of Sussex’s video ahead of the Invictus Games, Markle’s dad criticized his son-in-law’s outfit of choice.
“It matches his hair, so it’s pretty good. A lot of people were saying he looks like a carrot top, now he looks like a total carrot,” he said (via Geo. TV).
During a 2020 interview with Channel 5, Thomas Sr. said that his daughter and the royal family owe him.
“At this point, they owe me. The royals owe me. Harry owes me, Meghan owes me. What I've been through, I should be rewarded for. My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she'll take care of me. I'm in my senior years now – it's time to look after daddy. I want Harry and Meghan to see this video and know that this is not fair,” he said (via The News).
But regardless of what Thomas Sr. says, Markle and Prince Harry have never responded to him directly.
