Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. But they were not photographed together with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Since the Sussexes no longer work for The Firm, they weren’t invited to the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Colour. They didn’t also sit close to the Cambridges at St. Paul’s Cathedral for the Thanksgiving Service.
In fact, even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle brought their children, Archie and Lilibet, to the United Kingdom, the youngsters weren’t photographed in public. As such, it was Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children that made headlines during the Platinum Jubilee.
Prince George was praised for his calm and mature demeanor. And royal fans were also thrilled to see how reliable Princess Charlotte was because she looked after her brothers during the outing. And then there was Prince Louis, who stole the spotlight due to his hilarious antics.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Accused Of Upstaging Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Platinum Jubilee Post
But after the queen’s Platinum Jubilee ended, a royal expert claimed that Prince Harry and Markle engaged in a photo battle against Prince William and Middleton. After all, both couples shared photos of their children after the four-day event.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanked everyone for the love and support they showed the royal family during the Platinum Jubilee. They also poked fun at Prince Louis in their lengthy social post, which was accompanied by a series of photos.
Markle and Prince Harry, on the other hand, shared a photo of their daughter, Lilibet, for the first time ever to commemorate her first birthday.
While speaking with Express, TV presenter Belinda Russell said that there seemed to be a bit of a battle of the photo drop on social media between the Sussexes and the Cambridges.
“You’ve got Harry and Meghan and then Prince William and Kate post some unseen photos from the weekend,” Russell said.

Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Children Stole The Show During The Platinum Jubilee
Royal commentator Russell Myers responded by saying that it was Prince William and Middleton’s children that were front and center during their outing, especially Prince Louis.
“Of course, [Prince Louis] absolutely stole the show. I mean we’re all thinking about how we should be a bit more like Prince Louis because he looked like he was just enjoying himself massively. These pictures are absolutely gorgeous. The Cambridges at some of the street parties they popped into and some of the behind-the-scenes photos at Buckingham Palace. In contrast to the Sussex kids, they were really front and center over, which was very much planned about how to present the future of the monarchy,” Myers said (via Cheat Sheet).
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Accused Of Overshadowing The Royal Family
This isn’t the first time that the Sussexes, particularly Markle, were accused of upstaging members of the royal family. Two years ago, Prince Harry released a statement announcing his decision to quit The Firm one day before Middleton’s birthday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also announced Markle’s first pregnancy to the royal family while they were at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding. And a photo of Markle carrying Archie surfaced online days before Prince Louis’s third birthday.
While all these instances may purely be coincidental, some royal fans believe that the Sussexes have been purposely upstaging the royal family. As such, they were warned about releasing Prince Harry’s memoir around the time of the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
