Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still not on speaking terms with her dad Thomas Markle Sr. after the latter was hospitalized due to a stroke last week. Samantha Markle got candid about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship with their father.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Called Out For Their Treatment Toward Thomas Markle Sr.
Samantha Markle spoke to Good Morning Britain a week after her and Meghan Markle's dad Thomas Markle Sr. was hospitalized due to a major stroke. She shared her thoughts about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship with the former lighting director and called them out for the way they treated the Markle patriarch after he staged photos ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.
"The idea that it would be justified to disown one's father because he was photographed or that he was opportunistic is crazy on the grounds that the people who are saying that particularly my sister and Harry, have been quite public and photographed, everywhere," Samantha said, as quoted by Express.
Samantha made the statement after the Duchess of Sussex was photographed paying honor to those who were killed in an elementary school in Texas without visiting their dad in a hospital in California. The mass shooting resulted in 19 casualties.
"Whether it's Texas or on, you know, the grave of fallen war heroes. So, I don't want to get into what is considered opportunistic photography," she continued. "But my father pales by comparison, what he was doing was admirable, and he never should have been, he never should have been disowned and treated that way."
Meghan Markle Hasn't Reached Out To Father Thomas Yet
On the weekend, Mirror reported that Meghan Markle had already reached out to her father ending their four-year rift. An unnamed source told the outlet that Prince Harry's wife "wants to know if there is any way to contact her father privately, without other family knowing about it or having to get involved."
Markle allegedly didn't want to contact any of her half-siblings because she believed they have their own agendas. When wanted her communication with her dad to be "totally private," and it won't involve Netflix, photographs, or tip-off to paparazzi.
However, Samantha said in her recent interview that Markle hasn't reached out to their dad yet. The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister Part 1 author noted that their dad's door has always been open for the duchess. Also, according to her, their dad hasn't changed his contact number.

"She's always had his phone number, it hasn't changed, and his address, so any suggestion that she doesn't know how to get hold of him and that she wanted to be private is somewhat ridiculous on the grounds that if you want to reach out to your father privately you know how to do it," Samantha added. "And you don't use PR and media outlets all over the world to make that announcement - that's not private."
Samantha warned Markle that if she would not reach out to their dad, she would "have to live with that [decision] for the rest of her life," Page Six reported.
She also told TMZ that Markle should "better stay the f--- away from a funeral and not use it as a photo opportunity" if their dad dies.
Markle Sr. was already out of the hospital. The Markle patriarch was thankful to those who reached out to him following his major health scare.
"I feel hugely grateful and know how lucky I am to be alive. I want to thank everyone, especially the wonderful doctors and nurses who saved my life," he said in a statement exclusively obtained by Mirror "I have been deeply moved by loving messages I’ve received from all over the world. I can’t speak right now, but I am working hard and will thank people properly when I can."
