Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been pitted against each other, especially when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still working royals. However, according to a new report, Markle is not done competing with her sister-in-law.
Meghan Markle Wants To Outdo Future Queen Consort Kate Middleton?
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted for the first time after the Megxit during the joint walkabout in Windsor following Queen Elizabeth's passing. While the fab four agreed to put on a united front, several sources claimed that the tension between the two duchesses was still noticeable.
Despite the temporary truce, the joint sighting only fueled the rivalry between Markle and Middleton. The former actress is reportedly on a mission to outshine the new Princess of Wales.
"Coming face-to-face last month has further ignited the rivalry between Meghan and Kate, rather than relieving tensions," a source told Closer magazine in its Oct. 19 issue (via IBT).
The unexpected reunion reportedly prompted Markle to be "on an all-out mission to get one up" on Middleton. The anonymous insider likened their alleged rivalry "to a game of chess with Meghan trying to outdo Kate every time she makes a move and intentionally making her own move in a bid to get one-up and undermine her."
"Meghan's always felt like she's been in Kate's shadow and being back in the UK recently, she felt that more than ever, so it reignited her drive to win and come out on top," the source added.
The tipster went on that the Horrible Bosses star has been making subtle "secret messages" to tell her sister-in-law that "she'll never back down."
Why Are Megan Markle And Kate Middleton Feuding?
According to sources, the Duchess of Cambridge hasn't forgiven the Duchess of Sussex for the things she said in her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey. Markle claimed that the reports about her making Middleton cry were not true because "the reverse happened."
Markle confirmed that there was a misunderstanding between her and Middleton over the bridesmaids' dresses, which included Princess Charlotte, and Prince William's wife "made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings."
Middleton has not addressed the report despite the netizens wanting to hear her side. Prince Harry's sister-in-law has practiced the late Queen's "never complain, never explain" mantra.

However, several body language experts agreed that there was tension between Middleton and Markle during the joint walkabout. They noticed how Middleton took her distance and never even looked at Markle.
"She was being genuine. It was not in her heart to smile at Meghan, so she didn't do it," body analyst Dr. Lillian Glass told Page Six. "Meghan, on the other hand, looked like a sad and desperate puppy as she tried to catch Kate's eye gaze repeatedly. But Kate was having none of it," the analyst added.
Judi James echoed the same sentiment saying Middleton was not keen to perform for the cameras.
"Walking away from Meghan and the car, she went to join the brothers before keeping a wide social space between herself and the others, looking keen to get on with the job rather than perform in any soap opera," James said about Middleton.
