Meghan Markle breaks her silence over the claims about the letter she sent to King Charles III, naming the mysterious royal family member who questioned "how dark" their firstborn child's skin would be in 2021.

Allegedly, the correspondence was one of the reasons Meghan didn't want to attend King Charles' coronation. Hence, Prince Harry's wife has finally set the record straight.

The Letter Meghan Markle Sent to King Charles

The Telegraph reported the claims that the Duchess of Sussex sent a letter to her father-in-law about the "unconscious bias" in the royal family after her and her husband's interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

During the controversial interview, the former actress alleged "several conversations" between the Duke of Sussex and the unidentified royal about "how dark" Prince Archie's skin would be before he was born.

The outlet claimed the letter between the former Suits star and King Charles is "thought to be one of the factors" that influenced her decision not to attend the historic crowning.

Meghan Markle Addresses the Claims Surrounding Her 2021 Letter to King Charles

So, to stop the hullabaloos, Meghan finally broke her silence about the letter and her absence at King Charles' coronation.

"The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago," her spokesperson told E! News in a statement on Saturday, April 22.

"Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous," the rep continued. "We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating."

Identifying the Mysterious Royal Family Member

A source confirmed to Page Six that there was indeed a correspondence between Meghan and King Charles.

"But she's moved on; this was two years ago, it has nothing to do with her decision not to attend the coronation," the insider explained.

The publication noted that the letter had identified the name of the senior royal family member who allegedly commented on Prince Archie's skin color.

During the interview, palace insiders briefed it was "neither the late Queen Elizabeth II nor Prince Philip."

The book Brothers and Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan by Christopher Andersen named King Charles as the senior royal family member who questioned his grandchild's skin tone, though it had never been proven.

The Telegraph learned that the monarch and Meghan "acknowledged this mysterious individual's remark was "not made with malice."
