Where Have We Seen Vedette Lim Outside 3 Body Problem?
Vedette Lim is portraying Vera Ye in 3 Body Problem but this is far from the actress' first role.
The American actress, who graduated from Tisch School of the Arts, started her career with theater productions and commercials before appearing in well-known TV series and movies.
Later on, she landed roles on ABC's Six Degrees and a small recurring role on CBS' As the World Turns. In 2011, she appeared in the beloved 2008-2014 vampire TV series True Blood.
In this show, she portrayed Naomi, Tara Thorton's love interest. In the same year, she also had the role of Dr. Polly Preston in Grey's Anatomy.
Lim's film roles include Lisa from No Strings Attached and Rachel from Looking for Mr. Right as well as several roles in short films and indie movies.

Meet 3 Body Problem's Vera Ye
3 Body Problem's story spans across space and time. Vedette Lim's character, in particular, is part of the cast that operates in the present day.
Vera Ye is a Physics professor working at Oxford University and specializing in particle physics. She has handpicked and trained five promising students. These are now known as the Oxford Five.
At the beginning of 3 Body Problem, Vera is working on an accelerator project.
Her character journey will have her cross paths with environmentalist Mike Evans and investigators Clarence Shi and Thomas Wade.
Since Netflix's 3 Body Problem borrows elements from the second book of Liu Cixin's trilogy, titled The Dark Forest Vera is a stand-in for the daughter Ye Wenjie had in the books.
