Oshi no Ko is one of the biggest trending anime of the season thanks to its hard-hitting story and a great cast of characters. Because of this, it’s no surprise that the comedy anime Me & Roboco got a new music video that’s heavily inspired by Oshi no Ko.
"Heavily inspired" may be putting it lightly though, as the music video features a 1:1 recreation of Oshi no Ko’s iconic first volume cover.
This is far from the first time that Me & Roboco referenced another hit show as references are pretty much a recurring thing in the series.
Me & Roboco’s Constant Manga References
Me & Roboco is a gag manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. While the magazine is best known for battle shonen titles like Jujutsu Kaisen, it has always had at least one comedy series.
Given its unserious nature, Me & Roboco makes many references to other Shueisha manga titles.
In fact, each manga volume of the series features a recreation of another popular Jump manga.
The series’ latest volume features a recreation of the World Trigger Volume 1 cover.
World Trigger may not currently be a Shonen Jump title, but it was originally serialized there, so it makes sense that it got a reference.
As for the previous volumes, Me & Roboco has referenced other series, including Doraemon, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man, among others.
These references aren’t just in the manga though, as the anime adaptation has also referenced other popular works.

Me & Roboco Reveals Oshi no Ko-Inspired Music Video
To promote the ongoing anime as well as its upcoming Blu-ray release, a new music video featuring Roboco’s idol debut was released online via Rakuten Content Central.
This music video is made for the song, Love Blur. And while the song is not a reference to Oshi no Ko, the video’s intro definitely is, as it shows Roboco doing Ai Hoshino’s signature pose from the manga’s first volume.
Though this is not the first time that the series referenced Oshi no Ko, as the manga’s eighth volume also did the same.
As for the anime adaptation, it’s an unusual series given that instead of standard-length episodes, each of the show’s episodes is only 3 minutes long on average.
New episodes of Me & Roboco air on TV Tokyo in Japan every Sunday.
