The Black Panther franchise is experiencing a lot of drama as of late as production for the upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been put on hold. To those unaware, filming had to be shut down last month after Letitia Wright suffered an on-set injury that was far worse than initially expected. If that wasn't frustrating enough, rumor has it that the actress' views on COVID-19 vaccine mandates are putting her MCU career in danger.

Shuri, the character Wright plays in the billion-dollar franchise is one of the frontrunners to become the next Black Panther following the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman, at least that's what the reports are saying. But due to her anti-vaccination controversy, it seems like the fans have gone sour on the 28-year-old star, and their desire to see T'Challa's little sister continue his legacy as the Black Panther is slowly wearing off.

In fact, Letitia has constantly been a hot topic on Twitter and the backlash she's been getting lately is quite nuclear. Speaking of trending topics, MCU fans have once again launched the #RecastTChalla movement, demanding Marvel Studios to cast a new actor who will take over Boseman's role. Most fans believe that with Wright being "undeserving" of taking on the mantle, the studio should just find a new actor to continue the role instead of killing him off in the MCU. Despite the clamor from the fandom to see a new actor take on the T'Challa role, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has made it clear that they have no plans of recasting the late actor. Personally, I think that's the best way to go about things and while I think Chadwick would have loved to see T'Challa's story continue, his potential replacement will have some big shoes to fill.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently slated for release on November 11, 2022.
